Advising

October 20	Advising begins for Spring Semester 2009.
Jan 21 - Jan 23	Orientation and Registration for Spring Semester 2009.

Classes cancelled for those not finalized (both Spring/Wintersession).

Registration, adding classes, dropping classes, withdrawing from the University of Montana

Oct. 22	College of Technology registration begins according to alphabetical schedule on www.umt.edu/cyberbear.
Oct. 27	Registration begins for all other students according to alphabetical schedule on www.umt.edu/cyberbear.
Nov. 11-Feb. 13	Open registration continues except January 20 for cancellation process.
Jan. 23	Last day to receive a total refund (except non-refundable registration fee) when withdrawing from all courses for Spring 2009. Obtain withdrawal forms from Griz Central Registration Counter.
Feb. 13 (4:30 p.m.)	Last day to register for classes, add classes, change credit in variable credit courses, change grade options or drop classes on CyberBear with a partial refund. Last day to submit an Override form for adds. Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses) with a partial refund. Last day to change grading option to AUDIT.
Feb. 14-Mar.9 (4:30 p.m.)	Classes may be added and dropped; or grade options changed (except Audit) with a drop/add form. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. Fees will not be refunded for courses dropped, and a grade of W will appear on your transcript. Graduate credit may be deleted by notifying Graduate School.
Mar. 10-May 8 (4:30 p.m.)	Classes may be added or dropped or grade options changed only by petition. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. A WP or WF will appear on your transcript for courses dropped after March 10th. No drops or grade options changes allowed after May 8.
May 1 (4:30 p.m.)	Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses). After this day, must petition to withdraw.
May 8	No petitions to drop classes or change grade options allowed after this date for Spring Semester 2009.

Fee payment, finalizing registration with Financial Aid, Scholarships, Third-party payments

Dec. 1	Registration bills available on www.umt.edu/cyberbear for payment or finalizing.
Jan. 16	Last day to pay or finalize registration bill by 4:30 p.m. in person or midnight January 19 via Cyberbear to avoid cancellation of classes on January 20th.
Jan. 21- Feb. 13 (4:30 p.m.)	Fee payment and finalization resume for late registering students.
Jan. 30 (midnight, February 1 via Cyberbear)	Last day to pay fees or finalize registration without a $40 late fee. (Registering January 21- January 30)
Feb. 2	$40 late begins for remaining late registered students not paid or finalized by February 1, midnight.
Feb. 17 (4:30 p.m.)	Last day to pay fees or finalize registration with a $40 late fee 4:30 in person or February 17 by midnight via Cyberbear, otherwise registration will be cancelled.

Health Service and Blue Cross

Feb. 13 (4:30 p.m.)

Last day to waive health insurance coverage (Distance students are not eligible for The University of Montana Student Health Insurance) or add clinical health fee.

Deferred Payment

October 22	First day to apply for Deferred Payment Plan through Business Services Office. A $30 administration fee is charged.
March 3	Second deferred payment due date.
April 3	Third deferred payment due date.

Financial Aid Appeal

Feb. 10 (4:30 p.m.)

Last day to submit an appeal for Spring Semester 2009 financial aid at Financial Aid counter in Griz Central by 4:30 p.m.

Instruction and Holidays

Jan. 26	Classes begin for Spring Semester 2009.
Feb. 16	Washington-Lincoln Holiday, no classes held.
Mar. 30-April 3	Spring Break, no classes held.
May 8	Last day of classes for Spring Semester 2009.
May 11-15	Finals week for Spring Semester 2009.

Housing and Meal Plans

Jan. 21	Official housing day in residence halls. Arrivals before this date must be arranged with extra daily rate.
Feb. 6	Last day to make meal plan changes for Spring Semester 2009. Upgrades allowed all semester.

Graduation and Commencement

Feb. 2	Department approved undergraduate degree applications for graduation at the end of Summer 2009 due with $25 application fee in Griz Central at Cashier Counter . Applications due in departments 3-14 days in advance.
Mar. 2	Department approved undergraduate degree applications for graduation at the end of Autumn 2009 due with $25 application fee in Griz Central at Cashier Counter. Applications due in departments 3-14 days in advance.
May 16	Commencement Ceremony 2009
