Jack Stanford and Bonnie Ellis have received one of the state’s highest honors for their work in conservation. The award is given annually to a Montana citizen to recognize lifetime achievement in environmental conservation.

The Numerical Terradynamic Simulation Group (NTSG) and Flathead Lake Biological Station (FLBS) at The University of Montana invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher to study landscape freeze-thaw cycles and their influence on ecosystem processes, including vegetation phenology, productivity and terrestrial carbon cycle processes.

FLBS Receives $1M Challenge

FLBS Researchers Prepare Water Quality Instrument


FLBS has received a $1 million challenge gift for research and monitoring of Flathead Lake Water quality. The gift, made by an anonymous donor, requires a dollar-for-dollar match from other donors. Matching donations will help expand this gift and help continue FLBS efforts to protect Flathead Lake water quality.

The Riverscape Analysis Project (RAP) is a climate-modeling project developed at FLBS that uses a variety of factors to provide better predictions on river temperatures, flows, and fish populations.
