Prospective Students

Welcome to The School of Journalism at The University of Montana, one of the nation's oldest accredited journalism programs, and also one of its best.

We're glad you're here, and we hope you'll consider joining us. Use this page and others throughout this Web site to learn about our school and what we have to offer. We are one of the nation's top schools of journalism for preparing undergraduate and graduate students to work in the field. Along with a fine liberal arts education, our students also receive the skills necessary to find, report, write, photograph and broadcast the news.

To the right, you will find three links. FAQs offers answers to 25 questions most frequently asked by our prospective students. "About the J-School" will lead you to information about the school's history, its faculty and its facilities. That link will also take you to examples of our students' work. Click on "Academic Programs" to learn how our school works and what courses you will be able to take in print, photo, broadcast journalism and broadcast production.

Thanks for visiting. We hope to see you in Missoula.
