Dean Stone Night a rewarding event for many

The Journalism School faculty entertained Dean Stone Night attendees with its rendition of "Newsboy Jimmy Brown." The dean of the school, Jerry Brown (left) led the singers (left to right), Carol Van Valkenburg, Denise Dowling, Sharon Barrett, Tom Cheatham and Bob McGiffert.

More than 60 awards and $81,300 in scholarships and cash prizes were distributed at the J-School's 44th annual gala Friday April 4. Poignant memorials, unanticipated musical talent, and the convergence of the entire J-School under one roof marked the evening.
