Students
taking a computer-assisted reporting class used their CPUs
for more than just word processing this spring. After accumulating
records of campaign donations to state legislators, they
set out to find donation trends. With help from databases
and spreadsheets, they turned their raw numbers into research
for stories and created a searchable database of campaign
donations. Who said reporters can’t do math?
