This class explores the
historical, legal, cultural, and social aspects of
domestic violence. Domestic violence has been
part of our culture since the founding of the country. The
concept of domestic violence as a social problem has
only recently gained recognition, primarily through
the work of the battered women’s movement. The
class focuses on the criminal justice system response
to domestic violence, with particular emphasis on prosecution
and defense of domestic violence offenses. |
