INTERNATIONAL LAW RESEARCH
LAW 683
1 credit

Professor Stacey Gordon

International law is based on an entirely different set of documents, governing bodies, courts, and general principles than U.S. law and even students who are excellent U.S. legal researchers cannot be expected to know where to start when confronted with their first international law question. This course will cover the basic sources of international law, treaty research, research in international courts and tribunals, UN and NGO research, and foreign and comparative law research. Much of the course will focus on internet and online research, though print materials will be introduced throughout the semester.
