EDUCATION: B.S. Biology, University of Maryland Baltimore County (2002) B.A. Visual Arts- Photography, University of Maryland Baltimore County (2002) I first joined MTCWRU in 2006 as an assistant field supervisor for Dr. Martin’s long-term project studying avian life-history strategies in Arizona. In March 2007, I took over as full-time field supervisor and data manager. Before coming to Montana I worked for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as a Green Building Coordinator (2002), Point Reyes Bird Observatory as a nest searcher and bird bander (2003), the National Aquarium in Baltimore as a volunteer Aviculture Assistant (2005-2007), and Johns Hopkins University as a research coordinator in epidemiology (2004-2007). I am excited to have the opportunity to work on this interesting and well-regarded project, alongside so many skilled, knowledgeable colleagues. In fact, I couldn’t imagine a better place to work as I develop my own research interests in preparation for graduate school down the road. To this end, I am currently exploring many different aspects of wildlife conservation, ecology, and evolution. My interests outside of science include traveling, camping, hiking, gardening, ceramics, knitting, reading, sailing, and taking the occasional photograph. Considering I now live in such an opportune place, I hope to do more canoeing/kayaking and cross-country skiing. |
