Khaled Huthaily-Outstanding Foreign Student 2005

Khaled Huthaily - 2005 Outstanding Foreign Student Award recipient

Khaled Huthaily from Yemen came to the University of Montana on a Fulbright scholarship in Fall 2001 to pursue a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics. He is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education. Throughout his academic career at UM Khaled maintained a straight grade point average of 4.0. Since his arrival, Khaled has been in great demand in schools, churches, and civic organizations to speak about Islam. The faculty advisor of the Muslim Student Association, in support of  his nomination  wrote that “Khaled is exceptionally informed and  an important resource in helping us all better understand topics and issues that tend to be divisive in our society and the world.”   Khaled has delivered his talks with graciousness and eloquence and his engagement in discussion of religion within ecumenical context is truly praiseworthy.
