Niki Halver
Program Assistant, Residence Life
Niki Halver is perhaps the most magical employee of the University. Being in her presence has been likened to riding unicorns with flower crowns over rainbows. It's as if her smile brings forth the sun's rays (not the harsh ones that make you put on your sun glasses, but the ones that make you feel warm and fuzzy). You smell fresh baked chocolate chip cookies when you're around her, and her voice is twice as sweet. I'm not quite certain, but I think she may have a pair of angel wings with which she flies at night to sprinkle fairy dust upon the earth. Every time you feel happy, Niki made you feel that way.
She also does a bit for the University too. I nominate her for kudos a thousand times over.

Aaron Heiner
Computer Technician, Athletic Department
Aaron Heiner has been a computer lifesaver on many occasions, and he maintains his composer through all of my computer “meltdowns!” This time Aaron has outdone himself, as he helped me by building a macro so that I could continue to post other staff’s KUDOs that I receive. Without him I wouldn’t be able to get these important “Thank you’s” for staff up on the Staff Senate web site.
Once again, Aaron, you have stepped up for one of my challenges. You are so helpful to us all in the Athletic Department! Thanks again!

And another...
Aaron is the best computer guru around. He has the patience of a saint. He's very understanding and considerate with everyone within our department, whether you are familiar with computers or not.

Wendy Hilderman
Academic Advisor, English Department
Wendy very generously offered to have me email an English paper to her to print and to see that it made its way to Professor Lynn Itagaki. The paper was due on Friday, May 5 at 4 p.m., and I had arrangements for emailing my assignments to Professor Itagaki, but with her leaving town on the 4th, I was in a panic at the last minute, not knowing whether or not she would be checking her email before finals. Most staff, at this time of year, would never consider such a request, much less

Colleen Hoffman
Administrative Associate, VP Research and Development
Colleen saved the Staff Senate Homecoming parade float almost single-handedly! If it wasn't for her perserverence and hard work, we would not have had an entry in the 2006 Homecoming parade. Thanks, Colleen, for keeping Staff Senate "afloat!"

Kathy Howard
Custodian, Dining Services
Kathy is the custodian for our office, actually an employee of Dining Services. Recently our roof was redone, however they had not finished the sealing when the big rains hit about 4 weeks ago. So, when Kathy came into clean on Sunday, she found that part of the ceiling had collapsed on my desk and the empty one next to me. No one has ever accused me of having a neat and tidy desk, so she spent over 3 hours trying to clean things up. This included setting the six pairs of shoes from under the desk, out to dry. She really went above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks so much!
