Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers (AAG)

April 17-21, 2007, San Francisco, CA

Sessions of the Mountain Geography Specialty Group (MGSG)

To submit an organized session, have all of your session participants submit their abstracts online.

When they do this they will be provided with a Presenter Identification Number (PIN), which will be the same as their AAG ID number. If you have a discussant or panelist who does not plan to submit an abstract, he or she can forward you his or her PIN as long as he or she has registered for the meeting first. Please collect these PIN numbers from your presenters, panelists and discussants and proceed to submit your session using the online interface.

So my instructions to you, should you wish to give an AAG paper in a session sponsored by the MGSG, are:

Register at:

http://www.aag.org/annualmeetings/SF2007/registration.cfm

Send me your PIN and also your title/authors/abstract.

I will organize sessions by seeing if I can put together groups of papers for which I can get co-sponsorship from a second specialty group. If possible I will use region as a criterion. You will have to trust me on this, but I expect I may be able to do better that the program committee.

I will let participants know how the process is going in case there are few papers or problems with organization.

Although the deadline is 26 October, I anticipate travelling that week, so do not wait until the last minute. I can only guarantee working on this if I have the information by October 13.

NOTE: There is still plenty of time for YOU to put together a special session on a mountain geography theme of you liking! Just get 5 papers (or 8-12 illustrated papers or a panel of 4-6 or 101-4 Interactive Short Papers) together!

MGSG is also co-sponsoring other sessions, such as:
Mountain Snowpack
Organizer: Dan Bedford, Weber State University, e-mail: dbedford@weber.edu
Co-sponsored by Cryosphere, Mountain and Water Resources specialty
groups; pending co-sponsorship from Climate SG.

Thanks.
George Malanson
MGSG Chair
