Abigail Nastan - Geosciences

Abigail NastanGeosciences major Abigail Nastan travelled to San Francisco in fall 2012 to represent both UM’s Geosciences and Physics & Astronomy Departments at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting. Her poster topic compared climate change on Earth to that on Mars and explored whether humans could one day live on the Red Planet. In addition to meeting fellow scientists and discussing her research interests with them, Abigail attended sessions on subjects ranging from the habitability of Europa (one of Jupiter’s moons) to climate change education to James Cameron’s most recent deep-sea diving expedition. Abigail notes, "…my poster presentation will demonstrate my research capacities, and will help me gain entrance to graduate school programs."
