Tarun Gupta - Biomedical Sciences
At the Luncheon on Inspired Learning, part of Celebrate Academics 2014, I was asked to share my learning experiences at UM with faculty members, graduate students and administrators, and describe what drives me academically. I talked briefly about the implications of emerging evidence in neuroscience research on some of the fundamental tenets of philosophy and ethics. I described how inter-disciplinary interactions like these drive my fascination for active inter-departmental collaboration and learning. During a luncheon with Provost Brown, we discussed how such cross-departmental interactions could be facilitated through joint seminars. Hearing from other students from different schools and colleges made me appreciate different learning styles and reinforced the value of inter-personal student-teacher interactions.
