Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility
An OCR complaint was filed against UM in the spring of 2012. A Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) self-study is a requirement of UM's settling a formal complaint with the Department of Education.
The self-study involves research and reporting about technology used at the department and course level. EITA staff will contact individual departments, answer questions about electronic and information technology accessibility, supporting departmental staff while completing the self-study and developing remediation plans. However, departments can get an early start by filling out the self-study forms.
Data will be collected about the accessibility of EIT student-critical campus processes, IT procurement and the following forms of electronic and information technology:
Thank you for your help as we complete this study and implementation. If you would like to report any electronic and information technology barriers for us to research, please call 243-EITA (3482). You may also report barriers by using the standard Barrier Report form.
The campus study will be completed by June 6, 2014. An EIT Corrective Action Strategy will be developed by August 8, 2014 and shared with campus by September 1, 2014.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
