The Law Building is located on the north edge of campus between South 5th Street and Eddy Avenue and between Curry Health Center to the west, and the Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center to the east. The Law Building is a three-level facility that has been retrofitted to provide some accessibility. A 1999 addition to the building further improved accessibility.
Accessible Entrance:
The accessible entrance is located on the south side of the building. This entrance is equipped with push button automatic doors on both the exterior and interior vestibule doors.
Fire Sprinklers:
Partially sprinkled
Area of Rescue Assistance:
Upper level:
The ramp on the left side of the courtroom passes a door that leads to an area of rescue assistance for the second floor. This area is located on the top of a fire escape.
Lower Level:
None identified.
Elevators:
An elevator, located in the back of the Law Library, provides access to the upper and lower levels of the building.
Upper Level access:
Second floor access is tedious at best. After exiting the elevator vestibule on the second floor turn to you’re right and go along the upper mezzanine of the library. Study carrels are on the right and a solid railing overlooking the lower level is to the left. Continue along the railing until it ends and turn left. Now you are between the railing and library stacks on your right.
Caution: There is a metal stairway located midway across the route on the right side.
At the end of this corridor there is a door that is controlled by a coded card. A warning on the door states that an alarm will sound if the door is opened without coded card. The door opens to a small room. Turn right and proceed up a ramp. The ramp veers to the right to a door with a push button opener. The door opens into the top tier of a mock courtroom. Both ends of the courtroom are ramped.
The ramp on the left side of the courtroom passes a door that leads to an area of rescue assistance for the second floor. This area is located on the top of a fire escape. The ramp continues past the fire escape door to another door that opens into the back of a tiered classroom (203). There is no ramp to the front of the classroom.
The ramp on the right will lead to the main entrance of the courtroom and into the main hallway of the upper level. Access is provide to the two other tiered classrooms from this point. The classrooms are tiered and provide front row access only.

Lower level access:
The elevator provides access to the lower level, which houses the Castles Courtroom and several other meeting rooms. This elevator will not provide access to the south end of the lower level. The only access to this area is provided by a lift, which is adjacent to the stairway on the main floor south end of the building. To use it, you must be able to open and close the gate and operate the lift controls
Accessible Restrooms:
