CMS DEPARTMENT EDITORS

Hello A&F Web Contributors,

In preparation for our ongoing A&F CMS group we’ll need to get the following items accomplished first.


STEP 1


WEB ASSESSMENT: The first requirement for all individuals with responsibility of affecting anything related to the University Web Enterprise. You must pass this assessment prior to gaining access to the web and allowing me to approve your account set-up.

  • To submit a request  access to the Web Assessment: Web Request

NOTE: Please use Tim Daniel as the ‘sponsor’.




STEP 2


ACCOUNT REQUEST: All CMS users must first be established as account holders. IT Central performs this task after the following form has been submitted.

NOTE: Please use Tim Daniel as the ‘sponsor’.


  • NetID (you’ll need to have this handy when submitting the request)



STEP 3


CMS CAMPUS TRAINING: Sign Up

This is a requirement for all web contributors and site editors. Hosted by IT, this 2 hour session is  a nice primer and overview of the system. Below is a description of the course you're looking for. Please do your best to attend this session prior to our first gathering.

  • ITWeb101 - Cascade Content Management System for the Web (CMS)

Prerequisites: None Instructor: Janet Sedgley
Our campus web world has changed a bit. Central IT is now using our nifty new content management system – Cascade Server (from Hannon Hill) to create web pages and maintain campus web sites. Cascade makes editing and keeping your web pages up to date almost a breeze. Come learn how to utilize this free campus-provided system on your web sites.

MEETINGS

Sessions are hands-on! The setting is one of coaching, instruction and assistance while you actually work on your department website through the CMS. We'll start with the basics and move on from there in future sessions which will be held monthly.
