Lassau Red Horn was a member of the Pend d'Oreille tribe of Montana. He spent his life in the Flathead Valley, north of Missoula. The scientists at the Biological Station highly respected Lassau for his extensive knowlede of Flathead Lake and the indigenous species of plants and animals in the valley. He was frequently invited to consult with UM faculty on scientific issues. (Excerpted from The University of Montana Graduate Viewbook - 2003.2005)
