  • The 12th International Cather Seminar is currently accepting submissions for papers.  This conference, presented by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and The Willa Cather Pioneer Memorial and Educational Foundation, will take place in Chicago, June 25-28, 2009.  The theme is "Cather, Chicago, and Modernism."  For more information and guidelines, click here.

  • The alliance has published lesson plans; developed an electronic "virtual trunk" linked to standards in geography, history, and environmental studies; provided financial and academic support for the publication of the first widely accepted geography textbook in Montana, This Is Montana (2003); and published From Montana to Mars: Exploration from 1803 to 2003, and Beyond - a workshop/curriculum guide for teaching geography and science through literature.

  • The Department of Geography at the University of Montana maintains a meteorological station that can feed real-time information regarding Missoula's weather into your classrooms. It can be accessed through the Hellgate Canyon Weather website.
