Schedule

MASI Students Walking

A typical day will consist of four hours of instruction and cultural activities and one hour for lunch. (Lunch is not covered by the grant; thus, students are expected to bring their lunch with them or buy it on campus.) Within this framework, the instructors will work with their students, be involved in their activities, and facilitate inter-group learning opportunities and interactions.

Two “Practice” sessions will allow students to apply the language and cultural skills acquired through activities that require movement, such as games, dances, etc. Students from both levels will converge in cultural and extracurricular activities, such as viewing short documentaries, learning how to dance, interacting with other native speakers of Arabic, learning through games, music, role-playing, etc. This will allow students from the two levels to meet and interact with one another. This session will also be used to have students work in small groups, monitored by an instructor/TA. Students will also use this opportunity to use the computer lab and update their LinguaFolio profiles, practice keyboarding in Arabic, and use multimedia for learning purposes.
