Statement
The need to document or attach personal emotion to objects can be attributed to one's incapability to deal with the passing of time. I feel that most memories are different everytime you recall them. This body of work is a collection of memories that may or may not be true. It is my belief that human beings are shaped by many things, but the two that have resonated the deepest with me are my childhood memories of certain objects I could not part with and the stories my grandmother has told me about her youth. A personal tendency to fixate on the details of my own memories makes it necessary to also provide false bits of information in the titling. My intention is to pull partially from my own formative experiences and then distill them into minimal vignettes to highlight the things that get passed over in our lives. The falsehoods of memory give me room to play as well as allow the viewer room to relate to the ambiguity of the titling.
