To find out who your advisor is, please check your CyberBear account, or look at the wall outside the art office (FA 205). All students get their advising PIN from their advisors. Advising is usually takes place two weeks prior to the beginning of the registration process.
Mission: The Artist's Collective is a peer-promoting student group that was formed to provide a cohesive organization that advances the individual and collective needs of Art students. The intent is to maintain formal communication channels between Art students, the School of Art, galleries, other campus organizations and departments, and the Missoula community. The Collective's goal is to coordinate activities and events for fellow Art students to help prepare themselves for a career in the Fine Arts and to showcase their art work by bringing artist and viewer together for the exchange of ideas.
UMECA (University of Montana Emerging Ceramic Artists)
Mission: UMECA is a student-run organization designed to help bring together emerging ceramic artists in the community and the School in an open and equal environment. This group aims to promote its members' work and progress as artists. UMECA helps provide opportunities for students to exhibit their work within the School, the Missoula community, as well as outside of the state. In addition to helping arrange sales and exhibitions, this group raises money in order to provide members with financial stipends to attend ceramics-related workshops, conferences and residencies. Through these efforts, UMECA strives to promote and develop emerging student artists within the contemporary ceramics world.
Mission: FrontierSpace is a gallery of visual art located in Missoula, Montana. FrontierSpace exists as an independent organization focused on the exhibition of emerging artists who contribute to the arts community of Missoula through challenging and provoking creative work. FrontierSpace is committed to acting as a conduit of visual culture, channeling artists and ideas into Missoula from around the country.
