What
type of commitment is involved in joining?
Attendance
at chapter meetings is a requirement. Our chapter meets once a month
for about 1 hour. Attendance at AWMA sponsored seminars and other
events is also strongly recommended. There is also the opportunity
to become more involved through becoming an officer in the student
chapter or organizing and attending other events. AWMA is a great
organization for students because it only requires about 2 hours
per month to be an active member of the chapter, but many other
opportunities to get more involved are also present.
Who can join
AWMA?
Anyone.
Undergraduate and graduate students from any department are welcome
in our student chapter. The only requirement for joining is an interest
in environmental issues. If you are not a student, we can put you
in contact with someone from the Montana chapter.
Is there
any cost to join?
Membership
to the national organization costs $35 per year, which includes
membership costs to the local chapter. This membership fee also
includes access to the AWMA journal and other opportunities. Membership
to only the student chapter costs $15 and includes PNWIS regional
events.
How do
I join?
Just
talk to any of the officers at our events, or contact an officer
via e-mail to get more information.
