Error Message: "File is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site."

Scenario: You have successfully downloaded the new version of FINDW.mde from the Banner Support Website to your desktop. However, when you try to open the file, MS Access blocks the file and displays the following security warnings/errors: "Security Warning: Unknown Publisher" and/or "File is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site".

Explanation: More than likely your machine is running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed. The service pack contains additional security features that may be causing the file to be blocked.

To resolve:
1. Close the MS Access application.
2. Right click on the FINDW.mde icon on your desktop.
3. Select Properties.
4. Select the General tab.
5. At the bottom of the window you should see "Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." You should also see a button to the right labeled "Unblock".
6. Click the Unblock button.
7. Click the Apply button.
8. Close the Properties window.
9. Try opening the FINDW.mde file again. It should now open.
