User Not Authorized Errors:

If you are receiving "You are not authorized to view this page" or " You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.", more than likely you have typed the wrong username and password (e.g., your Banner or FinDW username and password) or have omitted the domain name (e.g., UM, SOBA, Forestry, etc.). This prompt is not related to your Banner or FinDW account!

To resolve:
1. Click on the filename again. When the prompt appears, clear out any text that might be remaining in the fields.
2. Make certain you enter your University network username/password. For most people, this will be the username/password used to log into your computer each day. To quickly see how you are logged onto your computer, press the Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys simultaneously. The Windows Security box will appear and will display Logon Information. (Example: Joe Sample is logged on as UM\joe.sample). Click Cancel to close the Windows Security box.
3. Enter the correct username, password and domain in the fields provided.

Important:
Some browsers will not display a domain field. In those instances, you must precede your username with the domain name followed by a backslash (\). See examples below:

Example 1 (standard prompt):                                              
User Name:  joe.sample                

Password:  ******                       

Domain:  um     

                           

Example 2 (where Domain field is missing):

User Name:  um\joe.sample    

Password:  ******
