 BBIRD Datasets

Data collected under the BBIRD protocols are stored in several large datasets.  Below is the list of database tables that contain specific nest, vegetation, abundance, and climatic information.  The name of each dataset is included followed by a brief description of the data.  Click on the dataset name for a list of field names found within the dataset. Because BBIRD incorporates data collected at volunteer sites, the data specified below may not be collected at all sites.  To request BBIRD data, contact the database manager.
 

Nest Fate (Fate.db) - includes information on the fate and productivity of nests

Nest Measurement (Nest.db) - nest specific, microhabitat and vegetation measurements at the nest

Vegetation Measures (measures.db) - microhabitat and vegetation measurements within 5m of the nest

Tree Measurements (Tree.db) - microhabitat and vegetation measurements within 11.3m of the nest

Grass (Grass.db) - vegetation measurements specific to the BBIRD grassland protocol (e.g. Weins pole data

Points (PCount.db) - contains records about a single point for a single replicate of a survey. This information serves as a master table for the count database (see below).

Counts (Counts.db) - contains species count records of males, females and unsexed birds for a single replicate at a single point.

Weather (Weather.db) - daily climatic data collected at each site
