Placement testing is required of all Bitterroot College (BC) students before they can register for college level math and writing courses.
Math Placement Test
Accepted math placement tests: ACT, SAT, or ALEKS (test scores must date within last three years).
The ALEKS math placement test is available online or at the BC for students who have been admitted to the Bitterroot College.
There is no charge for taking the ALEKS math placement test.
To take the ALEKS math placement test online from your own computer, visit www.aleks.com/sign_up and enter K4VET DGGQ3 as the Course Code.
To take the ALEKS math placement test at the BC, schedule a test time by contacting BC Operations Manager Patty Skinner at (406) 375-0100 or
ALEKS Practice Assessment (click on Try ALEKS Now in Student Module box; practice assessment requires a personal email address)
Writing Placement Test
Accepted writing placement tests: ACT Writing Test, SAT Writing Section, Compass e-Write, or MUS Writing Assessment (test scores must date within last three years).
The Compass e-Write placement test is available at the BC for students who have been admitted to the Bitterroot College.
There is a $15 charge for BC students taking the Compass e-Write placement test.
