Current Research Studies

Research Participant Protections in Rural America. This 3-year grant is funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute and began on September 14, 2010.

Exploring the Consent Process: Perspectives of IRB Members and Rural Research Participants. This two year study was supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and conducted between September 1, 2008 and August 30, 2010.
Advancing Patient Safety in Rural Settings, a study supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. This four year study was conducted from September 30, 2001 through September 29, 2005.
Ethics: A Bridge for Communities and Scientists (E-ABCs), a project supported by the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). This five year study was conducted from September 30, 2002 throught September 29, 2008.
Rural Bioethics Studies. These studies, supported by the Charles E. Culpeper/Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Greenwall Foundation, were conducted from December 15, 1997 through June 30, 2002.
