UM REFUND CHOICE CARD

UM has partnered with Higher One, a financial services company, to provide students with faster, electronic delivery of refunds to students.

Students now have a choice. Students may elect to have refunds electronically deposited to a bank account of their choice or they are eligible to open an online bank account with Higher One.  

Even if a student does not expect to receive refunds from the Financial Aid office, it is important to select a preference. If a class is dropped, cancelled or any other credit is applied to the student account, the credit will be sent according to the preference set by the student.

New students will receive a bright green envelope in the mail that contains the UM Refund Choice Card. Students will need this card to establish a refund preference.

Students:

• Go to UMRefundChoiceCard.com upon receiving the UM Refund Choice Card.
• Enter the unique 16-digit number located on the front of your UM Refund Choice Card. This number protects your identity and is required for authentication.
• Complete several steps including:  creating a username and password, providing an email address for refund communications, and, most important, establishing your refund preference.
