Dear Ms. Fields:

A mutual friend, Mary Cole, suggested that I contact you regarding your management training program. I am extremely interested in many aspects of business management with an emphasis in finance. I believe you offer a program in which I can learn and actively contribute to your company. I am a bright and quick learner who is very eager to be more involved in this field.

As you look at my enclosed resume you will notice many accomplishments in my educational, work, and volunteer experiences which make me a valuable co-worker in many settings. In my current position as Assistant to the Accounts Manager I have demonstrated many skills relevant to financial management. My manager has given me more and more responsibility to the point that I am now independently responsible for three budgets of approximately $5,000 each.

I will be calling you in the next week to be sure you have received this correspondence and discuss the possibility of scheduling a time, at your convenience, when we could get together for an interview. If after looking over my resume you would like to visit with me before next week, please feel free to call me at (406) 721-6543. If I am not available to take your call, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible. You can also reach me via e-mail at: cjohnson@mail.com

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to visiting with you.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Johnson
