What Can I Do With A Major In Native American Studies?

Introduction

The Native American Studies major provides an overview of tribes that are indigenous to the United States (including Alaska) and a history of cross-cultural relations from first contact with Europeans up to the present. As a student, you will study tribal literatures, art, dance, song, religious traditions, philosophies, histories, educational institutions, political and economic structures, and ecological perspectives. Consider this major if you are good at or want to develop skills such as critical writing, reading and thinking; persuading/influencing; research; teamwork. . .or have. . .initiative; verbal skills.
