What Can I Do With A Major In Women's Studies?

Introduction

"Women's Studies can be any discipline because the subject matter can be anything, only the approach differs." -1985 Mount Holyoke Graduate

Women's Studies focuses on women's experiences, contributions and status in the analysis of human culture and society, and also the dynamics of sex and gender, past and present.  Women's Studies students are prepared for a huge variety of careers based in feminist organizations, higher education, communications, health care, business, law, government, and social work.  Students also learn additional skills which encourage them to become intelligent, active, and persuasive voices for social change and equality.  The Women's Studies program at the University of Montana offers an interdisciplinary curriculum which examines women's lives through a range of courses cross-listed with programs in Liberal Studies, Anthropology, Biology, Communication Studies, English, Foreign Languages & Literatures, History, Native American Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Fine Arts, Law and Business.
