PROFESSIONAL      State your job objective.  (Not required, but be specific if you use one.)

 

EDUCATION            List your education in reserve chronological order (highest degree 1st).  List expected graduation date, if still enrolled.  Do not list high school.  If your GPA is good, generally 3.0 or above, list it as well.

 

CERTIFICATION     Include certifications for the state in which you plan to work, subject certifications, first aid/CPR certifications, and other relevant, documented certifications.

 

RELEVANT               This is an excellent place to cite coursework to show a potential

COURSEWORK       employer that you have been exposed to the skills you’ll need as an educator.  For example:

 

Adolescent Literature                Psychology of the Exceptional Child

Remedial Reading                     Multicultural Education

 

TEACHING               Teaching experiences are those that have allowed you to develop

EXPERIENCE           relevant, related, and transferable skills that will help you as a teacher.  These may include student teaching, tutoring, internships, volunteer positions and summer jobs involving work with children.

 

List each position in reverse chronological order (most recent first, then work back).  Include the name of the organization, your job title, dates and a concise list of your responsibilities and pertinent skills.

 

LEADERSHIP           Mention additional experiences that have helped you develop

EXPERIENCE           leadership skills.  These experiences need not be related to your job, but should include positions with supervisory, administrative, or organizational responsibilities. 

 

COMPUTER             List operating systems, software, and programming languages with

SKILLS                      which you are comfortable working with.
