Wireless Connection Instructions

  1. Notify us of your request for a wireless internet connection three days before your visit.

  2. Download our VPN Software by going to VPN File Downloads
    • Click on the Download Wireless Profile button
    • Click on the Save button. Save the file type as: All Files, NOT as: Text Document. The file should be called UMVPNWIRELESS.pcf
      Be sure that it has saved as .pcf

  3. Identify your systems' operating system(on the VPN File Download page) and click on the Installation Instructions link, print these for your reference. Then click on the Download button and follow the installation instructions.
    Installing software may need to be done at the Administrator level. Consult with your IT person and have these steps completed before arriving on campus to ensure your ability to utilize the wireless network at The University of Montana. Username and Password will be given upon arrival.
