Immersion Workshop Facilities
The
University of Montana's Flathead Lake Biological Station is located
on the shore of beautiful Flathead Lake, a pristine glacial lake
nestled in spectacular mountain scenery in western Montana. This
workshop site has educational facilities and cabin/dormitory living.
The beach is just a few steps away; bring a bathing suit, sandals,
sunglasses, and a camera to capture the gorgeous scenery! Please
describe accessibility needs when registering for the workshop.
Participants select single or double cabin or dormitory accommodations.
Linen and bedding are provided, and all rooms have electricity and
a desk. Participants share lavatory and shower facilities and a
laundry room is available. Meals are served in the dining hall,
which has an outdoor deck and tables. Swimming, fishing, and boating
(canoes and rowboats) are available on site, with a variety of other
recreational opportunities nearby. Plan now to vacation before or
after the workshop. Glacier National Park is 55 miles to the north.

scenic attractions.
Flathead
Lake Biological Station is located 85 miles north of Missoula and
36 miles south of Kalispell. Commercial flights serve Missoula and
Kalispell. Amtrak serves Whitefish (50 miles north). For an additional
fee, transportation from the Best Inn, 4953 N. Reserve Street, Missoula,
to Flathead Lake Biological Station is available on Sunday, August
7, and return transportation to the Missoula Airport is available
on Saturday, August 13. Please request local transportation in advance
by calling (406) 243-4626. A room block for the evening of Saturday,
August 6, is being held until July 26 at the Best Inn, (800) 272-9500.
