Welcome to the MPA Online Self-Support Cohort. Students admitted to the MPA Online degree program prior to January 1, 2007 belong to the cohort of students who were “grandfathered” into the self-supported funding model.
As a self-support student, it is vital that you register for the correct course sections each semester. On this page you’ll find links to course schedules specific to your cohort and other information to help you navigate the registration process.
Information on this web site changes frequently as new information becomes available. Save this page to your “favorites” list and check back frequently.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition for the MPA Online Self-support Cohort students is $258 per credit at current rates, subject to change. This does not include books and other materials.
Course schedules
Important Information about “Distance Only Status”
It is not necessary to change your status to “Distance Only” to register for self-support course sections. Distance Only students are not eligible for UM Health Insurance or Curry Health Center services, Athletic Event ticket discounts or Campus Recreation. Distance Only students must waive the health service/insurance options prior to registering for classes. In addition, students enrolled in this status are eligible to enroll only in online/internet courses.

Immunization Records Requirement
All students must provide immunization records prior to registration. For information on how to complete this process, click here: Pre-Registration Immunization Requirements.
Registration
Please remember that each semester you must update your contact information and "accept or deny" health insurance when registering. For registration instructions, visit http://cyberbear.umt.edu/ and click on Registration Instructions in the right-hand column. The Cyberbear website provides step-by-step instructions for online registration as well as contact information if you have trouble logging in or registering.
Once You Are Registered
About two weeks prior to the start date of your course, a letter and an email will be sent to you. This communication will provide your user name NetID, password and instructions for accessing your online course. Click here if you’d like to see an example of the letter you’ll receive.
