Pharm D
As the U.S. health care system evolves, pharmacists are taking a more active role in providing patient care. The University of Montana School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, in cooperation with Continuing Education, provides practicing pharmacists the opportunity to gain the skills to meet this challenge.
The External Pharm. D. Program provides an excellent opportunity for licensed practicing pharmacists to earn an advanced degree without returning to campus full-time. The School of Pharmacy combines traditional pharmacy pedagogy with accessible delivery technology and innovative approaches to instruction. This external program blends the flexibility of Internet-based study with the academic rigor and quality of the on-campus program. Interactive and hands-on courses are delivered via the Internet and two on-campus weekend sessions per year.
Most national pharmacy organizations and the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education ( ACPE) have endorsed the Pharm. D. degree as the entry level degree for the profession. The last new class entered the External Pharm D Program in 2003.
