Course Description:

Your website is nowhere to be found on Google? Your SEO isn’t working and you’re frustrated! With about 70% of all searches being done on Google, showing up on Google’s first page can have a significant impact on your business. If your business serves local customers, getting listing in Google+ Local can be a great option. Google+ Local is free, but there are steps and techniques that can mean success or failure in getting your business displayed on Google’s first page. Even if your business isn’t local in nature, Adwords provides yet another option to get on Google’s first page. Adwords is a “pay to play” (pay-per-click) option, but can be highly effective in bringing your business exposure and new customers. Learn about both ways to get your business prominently found on Google, even if you’re not ranked high in natural results.

In this class, you will learn:

  • What Google+ Local is and how it differs from Google Places or Google Maps
  • How to claim your Google+ Local page on Google (or request that one be set up for you) and effectively optimize it for increased exposure
  • The major do’s and don’ts of Google+ Local that can help or hurt your presence
  • How Google Adwords works and how you can pay to get first page Google exposure
  • How to write great Google Adwords ads and test them for greatest effectiveness
  • How to measure results, tweak to improve your campaign, and achieve cost-effective results

By the end of class, students will have an understanding of Google+ Local and Google Adwords programs and how to have a business presence on the first page of Google without traditional SEO.
