Course Description:

Online Monetization & Conversion is a 4-week course designed to provide students with an understanding of a variety of online monetization methods, sales funnels, and lead generation techniques. Learn how to sell physical and digital goods online via shopping carts, affiliate marketing, and drop-shipping. Study the do's and don'ts of email marketing that can make or break an online marketing campaign. Whether you want to make a primary, secondary, or ancillary income stream from your website or blog, this is the course for you!

In this class, you will learn how to:

  • Monetize an existing or new website or blog using a variety of monetization methods
  • Identify and use monetization techniques best for your particular business or situation
  • Develop a sales funnel that will turn visitors into leads, and leads into sales
  • Determine whether PayPal, integrated or stand-alone shopping carts are best to sell online
  • Use affiliate programs to increase your sales and revenue
  • Incorporate Google Adsense into your website or blog for added earning potential
  • Apply best practices of email marketing to drive additional sales

By the end of class, students will have learned many ways to make money from an existing or new website or blog and to identify those techniques best suited for their business. Students will also know how to develop an effective sales funnel and use various ways to convert visitors into leads, and leads into sales.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate and an award of 1.2 CEUs.

This 4-week course on Online Monetization & Conversion is the fourth segment in the Online & Social Media Marketing Certificate Program. Students are welcome to take all five courses, earning the full certificate and 6 CEUs, or pick and choose any of the individual courses in the program.

About the Instructor: Karen Porter

Karen Porter is a Missoula native with 25 years marketing experience.  She spent 10 years leading marketing functions for two multi-billion dollar companies, 11 years teaching marketing at the University of Montana, and has owned or co-owned several small businesses.  Being involved in internet marketing since 1998, she brought her digital experience to the classroom in 2011 when she introduced the first university-level online and social media marketing course in the state of Montana.  She currently owns Impact Online Marketing offering digital marketing strategy, website development, search engine optimization, and social media services.  Her website, ImpactOnlineMarketing.com, features marketing information, free tips, and recommended marketing resources for small business owners.
