The MOLLI summer camp for grandparents and grandchildren has been an enjoyable experience for many over the years. In 2013, we introduced a pilot program for the camp that focused on science education with two community partners: spectrUM and the Montana Natural History Center. SpectrUM hosted two sessions on Neuroscience in their new downtown location and the Montana Natural History Center hosted one session on Exploring the Natural World of Birds at their Fort Missoula classroom location. Camp sessions with both spectrUM and the Montana Natural History Center were over a two-day period and included both classroom and field experiences.
Registration will be available in the spring through the MOLLI office. Adult participants must be MOLLI members. Learning pairs consist of one 50-plus adult and one child, with grandparent and grandchild relationship optional.
To register: Please call the MOLLI office at 406.243.2905 or visit us in the School of Extended & Lifelong Learning, Todd Building, on the University of Montana campus. Registration is not available through any of the MOLLI summer camp partners.
The cost of each two-day camp session is $100 per pair, plus the non-refundable 2014-2015 annual $20 MOLLI membership fee.
Upon receipt of registration and payment, the MOLLI office will mail a confirmation letter to the adult participant detailing the following:
All forms must be completed and returned to the MOLLI office by the established deadline to ensure full participation.

Led by neuroscience researchers and spectrUM educators, participants will dissect brains, have fun with EEGs and more. Learn what it takes to be a neuroscientist at spectrUM’s new BrainLab and BrainZone. This camp will take place at the new spectrUM Downtown location. Register through the MOLLI office.
What is the hippocampus and what does it do? Find out as we explore the brain through fun, hands-on activities at spectrUM’s new BrainLab and BrainZone. Led by neuroscience researchers and educators, participants will learn how neurons fire and record action potentials. Compare the speed of your brain with a computer. Grandparents and grandchildren pairs will perform a brain dissection, explore how EEGs work, and assist with real neuroscience research! This camp will take place at the new spectrUM Downtown location. Register through the MOLLI office.
