Admission Requirements
Deadline:
The University of Montana Graduate School accepts applications for the toxicology graduate program through February 1 of the year in which admission is desired. Students usually enter the program Fall Semester. Applications received after February 1 will still be considered, but priority will go to applications received before the deadline.

Application Requirements:
1. A completed application package:
* Online Application (apply online at
http://life.umt.edu/grad/name/applyadmission),
* 3 letters of recommendation,
* Original transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended,
* Personal statement,
* $51.00 US application fee,
* Original GRE scores (and TOEFL if international applicant) sent from ETS;
2. A miniumum undergraduate or masters GPA of 3.0 is desired;
3. Graduate Record Exam (GRE). General Test only. The institution code for the University of Montana is 4489. Consult your local institution for details about these exams or write to the Educational Testing Service, P.O. Box 955, Princeton, NJ 08540;
4. For international students, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for non-native speakers of English. The institution code for the University of Montana is 4489 and the minimum acceptable TOEFL score for admission is 540 or above on the paper-based version or 210 on the computer-based version. In order to issue a visa to international students, the University must have received an original (not a photocopy) certified statement from a bank or government agency that sufficient funds are available to meet the cost of study, living, and necessary travel.
An interview may be required. Students with very strong letters of recommendation and demonstration of research experience and research potential will be considered if the guidelines for the GRE and GPA are not met.
Admission:
Applications will be reviewed by the Toxicology Program Admissions Committee with selection by the CEHS faculty and approval by the Graduate School. Admission is contingent on space, faculty and financial resources.

Financial Assistance:
Teaching and research assistantships and summer employment opportunities are available to highly qualified applicants. Tuition fee waivers are granted to most students. Current stipends for academic year and summer employment total up to $14,400 for M.S. students and $22,500 for Ph.D. students.
