Chemistry 395

NEW Course: Chem 395 - Industrial Chemistry and Its Impact on Society

3 cr., prereq. Chem 161-2 or 151-2

Offered SP 06, TR, 3:40 - 5 p.m. Open to all majors

Catalog Summary: The process chemistry of five local chemical industries will be presented: Smurfit-Stone, Semitool, Asimi, Col. Falls Aluminum, Stillwater Mining. Students will visit 2-3 of the plants and guest speakers for the companies will present lectures. The economic and environmental impact of each industry will be discussed using interactive and class debate formats.
