UM Chemistry Building Renovation

The Chemistry Building at the University of Montana is currently being renovated. This $7.2M project funded by the State of Montana and the Richard E. Juday Chemistry Endowment includes totally new electrical and communications systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. All laboratories are being equipped with new benches and fume hoods. Improved safety features include new safety showers and eyewash stations, additional fume hoods, additional fire exits, and automated fire suppression. Renovated teaching laboratories include the introductory chemistry laboratories (4000 ft2) and an upper division synthetic and instrumentation laboratory (1500 ft2). Renovation of the NMR laboratories will include additional safety features and space appropriate for a new 600 MHz NMR. An addition to the building has added approximately 900 ft2 of office space. Renovation of the existing building has added approximately 1000 ft2 of laboratory space.
