Now Accepting Applications for the Alternative Winter Break trip to Hollywood!

Spend a week in Hollywood working with nonprofits addressing hunger and homelessness and earn two winter session credits!  Work with service providers, soup kitchens, food pantries, and more.  Prior to the trip, students will learn about issues related to poverty, hunger, and homelessness.  The service learning seminar will meet Jan 3rd - 5th. Students will leave for California on Jan 6th and return by Jan 14th.  We will meet again and reflect as a group on Jan 16th.  The trip will cost around $300 and is open to all students.  For more information, contact Kellie at or click here to apply!  Applications are due to the CE office by 11/3/17 for priority consideration. 


 Funding Opportunity for Nonprofits! 

The University of Montana Global Leadership Development class, “Can Giving Change the World?”, with support from the Learning By Giving Foundation, is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals to provide grants for Missoula County nonprofit organizations.

Criteria: Grants will be made in the following program service area:
Youth: Programs that are focused on youth mental health.  Key areas for consideration include: suicide prevention, substance abuse, mental illness awareness and prevention, crisis support, and abuse and neglect.  The class is receptive to programs that integrate outdoor recreation and/or environmental stewardship to promote youth mental health.  The proposal deadline is Wednesday, November 8 at noon.  For more information click here to access the RFP.
