GRK 102—Elementary Greek II—5 cr. (M. Semanoff)
The second half of a year-long introduction to the Classical Greek language. Continues GRK 101. Designed to enable the student to read Greek authors in the original Greek. Based upon such authors as Plato, Xenophon, the New Testament, Tragedians, and other major authors.

Prereq., GRK 102 or equiv. Selections of Greek prose and poetry from the classical period: Plato, Thucydides, Euripides, et. al.
LAT 102 (Section 1)Elementary Latin I5 cr. (S. Graham)
The first course of a two semester sequence designed to impart to the student a solid foundation in the Latin language. Successful completion of the 100 sequence will enable the student to read any Latin author.
LAT 212Latin Readings: Vergil4 cr. (J. Scott)
Prereq., LAT 102 or equiv. Selections of Latin prose from the classical period, with complementary exercises in elementary composition.
LAT 300Major Authors: Seneca 3 cr. (J. Scott)
Prereq., LAT 212 or equiv. Selected readings from the writings of one or more major Latin author.
MCLG 160L—Classical Mythology—3 cr. (J. Scott)
Deities and myths of the Greeks and Romans, with emphasis on those of most importance to Western literature and art.
MCLG 252L—Tragedy—3 cr. (M. Semanoff)
A study of the literary, artistic, and philosophical dimensions of tragedy.
MCLL 362H—Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy —3 cr. (H Ausland)
Examination of the thought of the philosophers of Greece and Rome as expressed in original works read in English translation. Ancient philosophy studied within its historical, linguistic and cultural setting.
