John G. Hay, Ph.D.
Professor of Classics
John Hay received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He began teaching at the University of Montana in 1968 and has taught broadly in the field of Classics: Greek and Latin at all levels, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Mythology and Humanities (literature and translation). Retired now, he has continued to teach a class each semester. He has served as chair of the department (Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures). He has published work on Sophocles' Oedipus Tyrannus and Aristotle's Ethics.
