University committees serve a wide variety of functions at The University of Montana and vary in terms of their mission, membership, and representative term length. For example, some committees serve in a long-term advisory capacity while others convene for a short time to focus upon clearly identified tasks. Committees are typically comprised of members from the faculty, staff, and student communities, and the respective Senates – Faculty, Staff, and ASUM – nominate individuals to serve and forward their nominees to the appropriate individual for final selection. One may obtain additional information about the charge or purpose of a particular committee by contacting the Committee Chair or the Executive Officer with oversight for the committee.
