Students

Creative Pulse students come from varied backgrounds and places.  The majority are elementary, middle and high school teachers.  Some are classroom teachers; others teach visual art, music, writing, drama.  We have shop teachers, Spanish, technology, interior design and costumers. The varied backgrounds and expertise our students bring contribute to a rich, diverse culture.

What Our Graduate Students Say about Their Creative Pulse Experience:

“We were taught in a real and encompassing way.  The learning in this program was so down to earth and gave me real world experience.”

"The Creative Pulse pushed me to try new things.  It underscored the importance of modeling the activities to the students.  I now know that if the teacher engages in the activity it pushes students to go farther. I have gotten so much to bring back to my classroom.”

"As a classroom teacher, I’ve become less and less myself over the years, because I’ve been so concerned with outcomes and assessments.  What I learned from this program was to connect to myself and trust my instincts and knowledge.  I now have a confidence, a willingness to try something new.”

“I felt I was a good teacher, but I wanted to be a great teacher. This program has helped me take my teaching to the next level.”

“I’d kind of gotten in a rut the past few years, doing the same classroom activities that I know work. This program has led me to think outside the box and I know my teaching will improve as a result.”

“The Pulse has given me the vocabulary for my instincts as a teacher."

“I am excited to take the things I learned this summer and share them with my students and colleagues.”

“The Pulse has changed me personally as well as professionally.  It literally turned my whole life around.  I highly recommend it to others.”
