Facility and Admissions

The pool is located on the south end of the Adams center complex, with the entrance and parking access in the Y parking lot.

The pool is 25 yards in length, and 7 lanes wide.

A Swimmers Mile = 1650 yards, which is 66 laps. A land mile requires 72 laps.

The pool's shallow end is 3 feet 6 inches deep, and gradually drops to 11 feet 6 inches at it's deepest.

When swim lessons are offered, the pool is 84 degrees. All other times it is 83 degrees.

Yes, we have a dry sauna on the south end of the pool. Hours of use are during lap swim and recreational swim times. General access is not allowed during any other programmed time.

The pool facility has a small weight room designed for swimmer workouts. There are dumbbells, barbell with a half rack, balance balls, benches, resistance bands, a TRX Suspension Trainer, Rowing Machine, and Indoor Cycling Bicyles. The weight room is available during lap swim and recreational swim times.

Lifeguards are on duty during all hours there is activity in the pool, no exceptions.

The University of Montana does not have a collegiate swim team.

Yes, the pool has limited time available for exclusive rental. Please call 406-243-2763 to inquire about rental rates and availability.

Pool parties are available, as well as group accommodation during our regularly scheduled Recreation swim time. Reservations are required and special rates may apply. Please email Tonya.Kiser@mso.umt.edu about availability and fees.
