Criminology Club

The University of Montana

In the Fall of 2005, a group of students with a common interest in Criminology came together to resurrect the Criminology Club. In the short span of one semester, they successfully wrote a constitution, gained recognition from ASUM, developed a budget, and developed a website. Now that the club is up and rolling, they've been able to focus on the social aspect.

The purpose of the Criminology Club is to provide an arena where students with similar interests can meet and to help other students understand the dimensions of Criminology. We have monthly meetings as well as other activities throughout the year.

The Criminology Club participates in activities such as bake sales, community service, guest speakers, educational movie series, and job recruitment meetings. We have an annual tours of the Montana State Prison and the Montana State Crime Lab and we co-sponsor the Student Police Academy.

Any student or community member can join regardless of class standing or major. To be considered a "member", you must pay a $3 fee which helps fund the club. For more information regarding the Criminology Club or to join, please contact us at umcrimclub@gmail.com.
