What is the Student Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA)?

The Office of Public Safety has found that education has been most effective in gaining understanding and support from the community. The Student Law Enforcement Academy offers students insights into how campus police officers perform their duties and how the department serves the community. Click here to download our flier.

The goals SLEA are:

•     Encourage increased understanding of police operations.

•     Enhance awareness of the Department's capabilities

•     Develop realistic expectations of Emergency response.

•     Bridge the gap between the Department and the community by building trust, loyalty, and a sense of cooperation.

•     Provide a forum for police–student exchange and dialogue.
